Stitched on 32-count Desert Sand linen, this richly detailed “home” for
your needlework supplies measures 4-1/4” x 6-1/4” when folded shut. The front
features a house, tree, & bird. The back features a willow tree. A stitched
alphabet graces the grass area of both the front and the back panels. The
book houses a pinkeep, needlebook, and small pocket. There is a separate fob to
attach to your favorite scissors.This piece is stitched with an array of
silks, overdyed, and plain cotton threads in rich shades of green, red, gold,
and blue. Stitches used are Cross-Stitch Over One, Spiral Trellis, Stem,
Petit Point, Smyrna, Diagonal Satin, Chain, Colonial Knot, Backstitch, &

"The Lounging Hare Sewing Box"

This sewing box is a finely handcrafted reproduction of an antique and is
made from a private stash of exceptionally gorgeous curly maple. The box
measures approx. 3 ¾” x 2 ¾” x 2” high. A sliding lid secures the box
contents. A lofty pincushion adorns the lid top and is embellished with a regal
hare lounging on a ground of muted greens. The pieces are stitched on 32
count linen to capture fabulous embroidered detail. The interior
of the box is fitted with a stitched tool pad that is folded ‘accordion style’
to tuck into the box. Slip pockets secure your favorite tools. The
embroidery is worked with silk floss in vintage tones of terra cotta and
bark. Kit includes tiger maple (aka curly maple) sewing box with
sliding lid, linen, silk floss, pearl cotton, ultrasuede, ribbons, bead, wool,
flannel, muslin, interfacing, stiffener and mat board. Kit does not include
scissors, wood ruler and wood thread winder, or antique tools shown in
photo. Special complementing wood ruler and thread winder will be
available for separate purchase.

"A Fine and Fancy Tulip Tray"

This unique tray was inspired by an antique mauchlineware tray, circa
1910. The tray, made exclusively for Patrick’s Woods, is crafted from rich
dark walnut. The individual tray pieces are laced together with hand-dyed silk
ribbon. The lacings may be released to store the tray flat. Stitches
pieces will complement the tray. A walnut ruler and thread palette will be
available separately. Antique buttons shown in photo not included in

A diminutive presentation purse is safekeeping tokens reminiscent of
Victorian era handcrafted gifts and endearments. The stitched verse reads;
‘A gift by hand conferred is oft’ to the costliest gem preferred.’ The
heart shaped purse is stitched on 32 count linen in vintage pinks, greens and
brown silks, and is gusseted with hand-dyed silk satin ribbon. The ‘gifts’
are crafted of materials similar to those used by stitchers of the 19th and
early 20th century to create unique and sentimental tokens.
Your kit will include linen, silk floss, and all of the finishing supplies
for the purse and tokens. Please bring paper scissors, tape measure, thin sharp sewing needles, neutral basting thread, twisted cording tool (if you have one) and small rotary cutter, mat and ruler set (if you have one). Class and Kit cost - $235.00 |

While stitching this drawn thread sampler you will be reminded of the soft
pastel colors of a desert morn. We will explore drawn, with-drawn and
interlacing stitches, as well as counted thread stitches, pulled thread stitches
and composite needlepoint stitches. The class sample is stitched on eggshell
congress cloth but if so desired, you may chose to work on 28 count linen. This
can also be worked in white only. The design size is approximately 7" by
9". Pre-stitching required - Approximately 3 hours Kit includes all threads, ground fabric, ribbon, needles and instruction booklet plus postage for mailing prework to stutents. The student should bring regular stitching supplies, plus a tool for
withdrawing threads and 11" and 14" stretcher bars. Class and Kit fee: $135.00

February 17th 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Mobius Cast-on Materials: Worsted or Aran weight yarn, Size 8 or 9 circular needle 47" or 60" Learning this majical cast-on will open up a new world of creative knitting. Once mastered, the mobius cast-on allows you to knit from the center out in both directions at the same time, and with a twist. The resulting project has no inside or outside. Scarves, shawls, baskets and a variety of other items can be made from directions in the 2 Cat Bordhi books "A Treasury of Majical Knitting" and "A Second Treasury of Majical Knitting".(At this point both books are recently out of print. If they remain so in Feb.
