General Policies
Application Deadlines: November 20, 2011 for all classes.
Notification of acceptance will be emailed (if you specify an email
address on your application) or mailed to you shortly after November 20,
2011. You may cancel your reservation and receive a full refund before
the deadline of November 15,
2011.
No cancellations will be honored after the November 20,
2011 deadline. However, if there is a waiting list or you fill your space, a full refund will be granted.
Hotel
The hotel is in walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg, great
shopping and first class restaurants and deli's. No need for an
automobile.
Rates offered will be honored two days prior and two days after the seminar. All participants are required to stay in the hotel. An exception will be granted to local Williamsburg residents only.
Single and Double: $80.00 per night, plus 10% tax, and $2.00 per guest room.
Triple and Quad: $90.00 per night, plus 10% tax, and $2.00 per guest room.
1 Bedroom Mini-Suite: $80.00 per night, plus 10% tax, and $2.00 per guest room.
Hotel reservations may be made by calling the toll free number,
1-800-932-9192, or by fax, 1-757-220-1560 and specifying "A Gathering of
Embroiderers". In order to insure the special seminar rates, your
reservations must be made at least 30 days prior to the seminar.
All deposits are refundable if called seventy - two (72) hours before
the event. All rooms not secured with a one night deposit by January
15, 2012, will be a space available basis at the rate at that late time.
Check in time is 3:00 PM and check out time is 11:00 AM. Arrangements
can be made for your luggage If you arrive before the 3:00 PM check in
time or when you are leaving after check out time.
The hotel and the bedrooms are really lovely as you can see by the
photographs. Each room has an hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and a
coffee maker.
The 415 Café offers lunches and dinner.
There is also a bar for your pleasure. The hotel
provides valet and underground parking.
A beautiful place to stay and never leave unless you desire to go out.
There is a first class needlework shop, Haus Triol, located in the Kings
Mill Shopping Center. You do need a car, but there is always someone
going and will often share a ride. If not, transportation will be
provided sometime during the Gathering.
The Gathering Boutique
The Gathering offers a wonderful Boutique.
Mary Ann Locklear, owner of Books & More. . .™, resides in
Chesterfield, VA. She is recognized for her expertise, knowledge and
honesty in matters relating to books. The primary focus of the business
is “previously loved”, new and out-of-print sampler and historical
needlework books. She frequently finds and shares rare and hard to find
books on these topics as well as others of interest to embroiderers
.Mary Ann is sure to have the newest books on the market as well. More
recently sewing tools, toys, accessories and stitching supplies for the
embroiderer have been added to the ever changing inventory of items to
tempt her loyal customers as well as new ones.
Mary Ann is our resident “book lady” here at the Gathering of
Embroiderers. If you have any special requests, please contact her at

Margriet Hogue has a mail order company www.theessamplaire.com
which reproduces samplers from North America and Europe. Many of the
reproductions are from major museums in Europe and North America. There
will be kits, charts, and beautiful hand-made wooden needlework tools,
made from many different wood. She also sells Antique samplers and
interesting books.
